Iceland
Remove The Limitations And Barriers
Iceland is a Nordic country located in the North Atlantic Ocean. It is the least populated country in Europe. Reykjavik is the capital and largest city. Over two-thirds live in Reykjavik and the surroundings of the country’s southwest. Iceland is the only region of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge to rise above sea level. Its central volcanic plateau is erupting almost continuously. Its interior is composed of a plateau with lava fields, mountains, and glaciers. Many glacial rivers run through the lowlands to the sea. Despite being located at the Arctic Circle, Iceland receives warmth from the Gulf Stream. It has a mild climate. The high latitude and marine influences keep the summers cool, and many of its islands have a polar environment.
The ancient manuscript Landnamabok says that Ingolf Arnarson, a Norwegian chieftain, settled in Iceland. Over the following centuries, many Scandinavians and Norwegians emigrated to Iceland with thralls from Gaelic heritage.
