Estonia
Remove The Limitations And Barriers
Estonia is located in northern Europe. The Gulf of Finland borders it to the north from Finland, the Baltic Sea to the west from Sweden, the Baltic Sea to the south from Latvia, and the East by Lake Peipus to Russia. Estonia’s territory consists of the Estonian mainland, larger islands Saaremaa & Hiiumaa, and more than 2,200 islands and islets along the Baltic Sea coast. It covers a total area of 17505 mi2. Tallinn, the capital city of Estonia, and Tartu are its two largest urban areas. Estonian is the national language and official language. It is also the language of Estonia’s majority, the Estonian language.
Since at least 9,000 BC, humans have inhabited the land that is now Estonia. After the Papal-sanctioned Livonian Crusade of the 13th century, the medieval Estonian indigenous population was among the last European “pagan” civilizations to convert to Christianity. In the middle of the 19th century, Estonia began to develop a distinct national identity after centuries of rule by the Teutonic Or, Denmark, Sweden, and the Russian Empire. This culminated with the 24 February 1918 Estonian Declaration of Independence against the then warring Russian Empires and the 1918-1920 War of Independence, where Estonians were able to repel the Bolshevik Russian invasion and successfully defended their new freedom.
