Gaborone is Botswana’s capital and also its largest city. Gaborone is home to 231,626 people, according to the 2011 census. This is 10% of Botswana’s total population.

Gaborone City lies between Kgale Hill (Oodi Hill) and the confluences of the Segoditshane River and Notwane River in the southeastern corner of Botswana. It is 15 km (9.3 mi.) from the South African border. Sir Seretse Khama International Airport serves the city. It was the capital of the Bamangwato people during the early 20th century and the birthplace of many of Botswana’s presidents. It has seen significant development in Botswana, and the town continues to grow.

Gabane is located in Botswana’s Kweneng District. It is situated 15 km (10 miles) west of Gaborone, Botswana’s capital. It was the fourth-largest settlement in Kweneng, with a population of 10,399 at the 2001 census. At the 2011 census, it had 14,842 inhabitants. It is now part of the Gaborone agglomeration and home to 421,907 people, according to the 2011 census.

The BaMalete tribe used to live in this village. Kgosi Mozadi Seboko, the chief paramount stationed at Ramotswa (the capital of Balete), is the head. While the older population still focuses on agriculture, younger generations are more urbanized.

Kanye, a south Botswana village is located 83 km (52 mi) southwest of the capital, Gaborone. The 2011 census had a population of 45,196, making it the eighth-largest town in the country. Kanye, the ancestral capital of the Ngwaketse tribal group, was established in the area in the 1790s. This is the most extended, continuously occupied tribal capital of the country.
