Bridgetown, Barbados’ capital and biggest city, is located in the parish of Saint Michael. The parish of Saint Michael now includes the Greater Bridgetown region, formerly called The Town of Saint Michael. Bridgetown is sometimes called “The City,” although its most common name is “Town.” The metropolitan population of Bridgetown is about 110,000 as of 2014.

Holetown, a small Caribbean town in Barbados, can be found along Barbados’s west coast in the Parish of Saint James.

Oistins is found along Barbados’s coast. It is located centrally along the coast of the church Christ Church. It also includes a fishing village and a tourist area that offers a range of bars, rum shops, and shopping arcades.

Speightstown, also known as Little Bristol, is Barbados’ second-largest City. It can be found 12 miles (19km) north of Bridgetown in Saint Peter’s northern parish.

William Speight, a member of Barbados’ first Assembly during the Settlement years, was the former owner of the land upon which the City was built.

Bathsheba is the main fishing village on Barbados’ east coast. It is home to around 5,000 people. Saint Joseph Anglican Church was built on Horse Hill in 1640. It was rebuilt in 1839 following a hurricane in Barbados.
