Bologna the capital and the largest city in the Emilia-Romagna Region of Northern Italy, in Bologna. With approximately 400,000 residents and 150 nationalities, Bologna is Italy’s seventh largest city. More than 1,000,000 people live in the metropolitan area. Because of its rich cuisine, red Spanish tiled roofs, and the fact that it is home to the oldest university anywhere in the world, it is also known as the Fat, Red, and the Learn’d City.
