Sudan
Remove The Limitations And Barriers
Sudan is officially the Republic of Sudan. It is located in Northeast Africa. It borders Chad, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Chad, Eritrea, and Libya. As of 2021, it has 44.91 million inhabitants. It covers 1,886,068 sq km (728,215 sq miles) making it Africa’s third-largest country. Before the 2011 secession of South Sudan, it was Africa’s largest country. Since then, both the Arab League and Africa’s largest countries by area have been held by Algeria. Its capital city is Khartoum, and Omdurman (parte de metro Khartoum) is it’s most populous.
Sudan has had a succession of unstable parliamentary governments since independence. Islamists ruled Sudan under the Jaafar Nimeiry government. This exacerbated tensions between the Islamic north (the seat of government) and the Animists, Christians, and Christians in the south. The civil war erupted between the government forces influenced by the National Islamic Front and the Southern Rebels. It was fueled by differences in language, religion, and political power. It ended in the independence and formation of the South Sudanese People’s Liberation Army in 2011.
