In the 9th century, Great Moravia established the Duchy of Bohemia. It was officially recognized as an Imperial state of the Holy Roman Empire and made a kingdom in 1198. The entire Crown of Bohemia was slowly incorporated into the Habsburg Monarchy after the Battle of Mohacs in 1526. The Protestant Bohemian Revolution triggered the Thirty Year’s War. The Habsburgs established their control after the Battle of the White Mountain. The Austrian Empire was formed when the Holy Empire collapsed in 1806, and the Crown lands were included.

Because of its unique Baroque style, symbolic value, and baroque charm, the Holy Trinity Column was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Cesky Krumlov (or Bohmisch Krumau) is a Czech town located in the South Bohemian Region. Cesky Krumlov Castle, which forms the historic heart of the town, is an urban monument reserve. It has been designated UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992 because of its well-preserved Gothic and Renaissance architecture.
Karlovy Vary, a spa town in the Karlovy Vary Region in the Czech Republic, is known as Karlovy Vary. Approximately 48,000 people are living there. It is located 130km (81 mi) west of Prague at the confluence of the rivers Ohre & Tepla. Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor and King of Bohemia who founded it, is its name.
