Ghana, Officially the Republic of Ghana. It is located in West Africa. It borders the Gulf of Guinea to the south and the Atlantic Ocean to the north. It shares borders with Togo in the east, Burkina Faso north, and Ivory Coast west. Ghana has an area of 238,535km2 (92,099 sq miles). It covers diverse geography and ecology, including coastal savannahs and tropical rain forests. Ghana, home to more than 31 million people, is West Africa’s second-most populous nation, just behind Nigeria. Accra is the capital and the largest city. Other major cities include Kumasi and Tamale.

Ghana is a multi-ethnic state that hosts various religious, ethnic, and linguistic groups. While the Akan are the largest group, they make up only a tiny percentage. Ghanaians make up 71.2 percent of the population. Nearly a fifth are Christians, while tenths practice traditional religions or report no religion. Ghana is a unitary constitutional democracy with a head of state and head of government. It has had one of Africa’s most stable and free governments since 1993. The country also performs well in terms of human development, healthcare, and economic growth. Ghana enjoys a significant influence on West Africa.

Kumasi, a city located in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, is one of the largest metropolitan areas in Ghana. Kumasi, situated in the rainforest region of Lake Bosomtwe, is the cultural, commercial, and industrial capital of the historical Ashanti Empire. Kumasi lies approximately 500 km (300 mi) north of the Equator. It is also 200 km (100 mi) north of the Gulf of Guinea.
Kumasi is known as “The Garden City” due to its numerous species of flowers and plants from the past. It is also known as Oseikrom, Osei Tutu’s town.

Cape Coast is a city & a fishing port as well. It is also the capital of the Cape Coast Metropolitan District in Ghana and the Central Region of Ghana. It is home to the Cape Coast Castle and the Gulf of Guinea. This historic city is a World Heritage Site.

According to the 2010 census, Cape Coast was home to 169,894 people. Fante is the language spoken by Cape Coasters.

Tema is located on the Bight and Atlantic coasts of Ghana. It is located approximately 25 km (16 mi) east of the capital city of Accra in the Greater Accra region. Tema, which has a population of 161,612 people, is the 11th most populous town in Ghana as of 2013. This is a significant decrease from the 2005 figure of 209,000. The city is directly crossed by the Greenwich Meridian (00 Longitude).

Because it is Ghana’s largest port, Tema has been nicknamed “Harbour City”. It is made up of 25 communities, each with easy access to basic amenities.

Sekondi Takoradi, a city in Ghana that combines the twin cities Sekondi – Takoradi, is called Sekondi Takoradi. It is the capital city of Sekondi- Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly and the Western Region. With a population of 445.205, Sekondi Takoradi is the largest city in the region and an industrial and business center.
