Tax Counseling for the Elderly
The Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) program at Sharina World Foundation is specifically designed to address the unique tax needs of individuals aged 60 and older. Our TCE program provides free tax help, focusing on issues that are particularly relevant to seniors, such as retirement income, pensions, and social security benefits. Our volunteers are trained to understand the complexities of these tax situations and provide accurate, reliable assistance.
Seniors often face unique challenges when it comes to tax preparation. Many are on fixed incomes and may not be aware of the various tax credits and deductions available to them. Additionally, the tax laws affecting retirement income can be complex and confusing. Our TCE program aims to alleviate these challenges by offering personalized tax counseling and preparation services.
The TCE program also provides peace of mind for seniors. We launched the Senior Tax Assistance Program, which included workshops and one-on-one counseling sessions. We assisted over 300 seniors, ensuring they received all eligible deductions and credits, which helped to maximize their refunds and reduce their tax liabilities.
