Mongolia
Remove The Limitations And Barriers
Mongolia is an East Asian country that is landlocked. It borders Russia to the north and China to the south. It covers an area of approximately 1,564,116 km (603,909 miles) and has a population of 3.4 million. This makes it the most sparsely populated sovereign country in the world. Mongolia is the largest country without a land border that is not connected to a sea. Its vast area is covered by grassy steppe with mountains to the west and the Gobi Desert in the south. About half of the population lives in Ulaanbaatar (the capital and largest city).
The modern-day Mongolian territory has been ruled over by many nomadic empires including the Xiongnu and the Xianbei, as well as the Rouran, First Turkic Khaganate, and others. Genghis Khan established the Mongol Empire in 1206, which was the largest contiguous land-based empire in history. Kublai Khan, his grandson conquered China and established the Yuan Dynasty. The Mongols fled to Mongolia after the Yuan collapsed and resumed their previous pattern of factional conflict. This was except for the time of Dayan Khan, Tumen Zasagt Khan, and Dayan Khan. The 16th century saw the spread of Tibetan Buddhism to Mongolia. This was further supported by the Qing Dynasty founded by Manchus, which took over the country in the 17 century. Nearly one-third of all adult males were Buddhist monks by the beginning of the 20th century. Mongolia gained independence in 1921, after the fall of the Qing Dynasty in 1911. The country was made a satellite of the Soviet Union shortly thereafter. This helped it to become independent from China.
