North Macedonia
Remove The Limitations And Barriers
North Macedonia, also known as the Republic of North Macedonia and simply North Macedonia, is a country in Southeast Europe. It became independent in 1991 as one of Yugoslavia’s successor states. North Macedonia, which is landlocked, borders Kosovo in its northwest, Serbia in its north, Bulgaria in its east, and Greece to the southeast. The country also borders Albania on the other side. It is located within the northeastern third, the largest geographical region in Macedonia. Skopje, the country’s capital and most populous city, is also its most significant. Most people are South Slavic ethnic Macedonians. Albanians make up around 25% of the population, followed closely by Turks, Romani, Serbs, Bosniaks (Serbs), Serbs and Aromanians, and a few minorities.
The region’s history began with the kingdom of Paeonia. It was a mixed Thraco/Illyrian polity. The Persian Achaemenid Empire conquered the region in the sixth century BC. It was then integrated into the Kingdom of Macedonia in the fourth century BC. The Roman Empire conquered this area and made it part of the larger province of Macedonia in the second century BC. It was still part of the Byzantine Empire, but Slavic clans often occupied it. This was in the sixth century of Christianity’s age. It became part of the Ottoman Empire following centuries of conflict between the Byzantine Empire, Bulgarian Empire, and Serbian Empires. It remained there until the early 20th century. Following the Balkan Wars (1912-1913), North Macedonia fell under Serbian rule.
