Guyana
Remove The Limitations And Barriers
Guyana is officially called the Cooperative Republic of Guyana. It is located in North-South America, with Georgetown as its capital. Guyana borders Brazil and the Atlantic Ocean to the north and southwest. Suriname and Venezuela are towards the east. Suriname is toward the west. Guyana is the third-smallest sovereign nation, covering 215,000 km (83,000 mi) of South America’s continent. Suriname, Uruguay, and Uruguay are the two other countries. Suriname is South America’s second-most populous sovereign nation. Guyana is home to many natural habitats and very high levels of biodiversity.
The vast shield landmass east and north of the Amazon Rivers is the “Guianas,” also known as the “land of many waters.” Guyana is home to nine indigenous tribes: Wai Wai, Patamona, and Lokono; Kalina and Wapishana Pemon, Akawaio, and Warao. The Lokono and Kalina tribes ruled Guyana historically. In 1837, the Dutch colonized it. British Guiana administered it from 1837 to 1950. It had a large economy based on plantations. It gained independence in 1966 and was recognized as a republic by the Commonwealth of Nations in 1970. Its diverse population and political system reflect the British legacy. In 2017, 41% of Guyana’s inhabitants lived below the poverty line. This includes Indians, Africans, Chinese, Portuguese, and other Europeans.
