Cyprus
Remove The Limitations And Barriers
Cyprus is an island country which is in the eastern Mediterranean Sea, south of the Anatolian Peninsula. It lies south of Turkey, west of Israel, Syria, Israel and the Gaza Strip (Palestine), northeastern Egypt and southeast of Greece. Nicosia, the capital, is the largest city.
It is believed that the island’s earliest human activities occurred around the 10th millennium BC. One of the archaeological finds from this period is Khirokitia, a Neolithic village. The oldest water sources in Cyprus are also known. Mycenaean Greeks established Cyprus in two waves in the second millennium BC. Later, many great powers occupied the island, including the Persians and the Assyrians. Alexander the Great took the island in 323 BC. After that, the Classical and Eastern Roman Empires and the Arab caliphates ruled for a short time. The Venetians then ruled the island for the next three centuries.
