Jordan
Remove The Limitations And Barriers
Jordan is found in Western Asia. It is located at the crossroads of Asia, Africa, and Europe. Saudi Arabia borders Jordan to the east and south, Iraq and Syria to the northeast, Syria, and Iraq to the north, Israel to the West Bank of Palestine to the West, and Saudi Arabia to the southeast and southeast. It boasts 26 km of coastline along the Gulf of Aqaba and the Red Sea in the southwest. The Gulf of Aqaba marks the border between Jordan and Egypt. Amman, Jordan’s capital and economic, political, and cultural center, is also the largest city.
Since the Paleolithic, humans have lived in modern Jordan. Three stable kingdoms emerged at the end of the Bronze Age: Edom Moab and Ammon. The rulers of this period were the Nabataean kingdom and the Persian Empire. After the Great Arab Revolt against Ottomans in 1916, during World War I, the Ottoman Empire was split by Britain and France. The Emirate of Transjordan was established in 1921 by Abdullah I (the Hashemite) and became a British protectorate.

Aqaba’s strategic position at the northeastern tip of the Red Sea, between Africa and Asia, has made it an important port for thousands of years.
Al-Salt is an ancient agricultural city and administrative center in west-central Jordan. It is on the old main highway leading from Amman to Jerusalem. Situated in the Balqa highland, about 790–1,100 meters above sea level, the city is built in the crook of three hills, close to the Jordan Valley. One of the three hills, Jabal al-Qal’a, is the site of a 13th-century ruined fortress. It is the capital of the Balqa Governorate.
