Kingston is Jamaica’s capital and largest city, located on the island’s southeast coast. The Palisadoes protect it. This long sand spit connects Port Royal to the Norman Manley International Airport. Kingston, America’s largest English-speaking town, is located south of the United States.

The Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation Act (1923) merged the local government bodies from the two parishes of Kingston and St. Andrew to create the Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation. Greater Kingston, also known as the “Corporate Area”, refers to the KSAC. However, it does not refer to Kingston Parish, comprised of the old downtown area and Port Royal.

Montego Bay is the capital city of the parish of St. James in Jamaica. This city is home to more than half a million people and is the fourth largest urban area in the country. Montego Bay, second in the Caribbean for anglophones, is after Kingston.

Spanish Town, the capital and largest town of the parish of St. Catherine, is located in the historic county of Middlesex in Jamaica. From 1534 to 1872, it was Jamaica’s Spanish and British capital. There are many memorials in the town, the national archives, and the oldest Anglican church outside of England.

Port Antonio, located about 100 kilometers from Kingston, is the capital city of the parish Portland. It was home to 12,285 people in 1982 and 13,246 in 1991. It is the third-largest island port and is well-known as a key tourist attraction. Tourism is a significant contributor to the economy of the town.

Savanna-la-Mar, the capital and chief town of Westmoreland Parish in Jamaica, is Savanna-la-Mar. It is a coastal town with an 18th-century fort built to defend colonial interests against pirates in the Caribbean. Savanna-la-Mar was initially established in Spanish Jamaica.

The town was destroyed by the powerful hurricane Savanna-la-Mar in 1780. Because the port was vital to the Atlantic enslaved person and sugar trades, it was rebuilt.
