Hong Kong
Remove The Limitations And Barriers
Hong Kong is also known as the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China. It is located in South China’s eastern Pearl River Delta. Hong Kong has over 7.5 million residents of many nationalities in a 1,104. Hong Kong is one of the most densely populated places in the world. It is also home to one of the largest cities on the planet.
Hong Kong was created as a British Empire colony in 1841 when the Qing Empire gave Hong Kong Island to Xin’an County. This occurred at the end of the First Opium War. The territory was extended to the Kowloon peninsula in 1860 following the Second Opium War. It was further developed by Britain’s 99-year lease of New Territories in1898. Imperial Japan held British Hong Kong between 1941 and 1945 during World War II. The British government resumed its administration after the surrender of Japan. In 1997, China received the whole territory. Hong Kong, one of China’s unique administrative regions (the second being Macau), has its own governing and economic system. This is by the principle “one country, two systems”.

Kowloon Walled City was an ungoverned, significantly populated de-jure Chinese enclave located within Kowloon City’s boundaries. It was British Hong Kong.
The walled city was originally a Chinese military fort. It became an enclave in 1898 when the United Kingdom leased China’s New Territories. After the Japanese occupation in the World War II, its population grew dramatically. The city’s 2.6-hectare (6.4 acres) boundaries contained 50,000 people by 1990. Local triads ruled it from the 1950s through the 1970s. There were high rates of prostitution, gambling, and drug abuse.
Tsuen Wan, a town located in the western New Territories of Hong Kong, is opposite Tsing Yi Island over the Rambler Channel. Tsuen Wan, a market town, was formed from the nearby villages and fishing boat fleets. The current Tsuen Wan MTR station is where the now-crowded city is located. Land reclamation further extended its coastline.
The original Yuen Long Town was not located in the busiest place of present-day Yuen Long, namely Yuen Long Main Road, part of Castle Peak Road. The earliest Market in Yuen Long was established and developed in the late Ming dynasty (1368–1644) south of the main road, in Tai Kiu Tunnear Tai Kei Leng.
The Coastal ban caused the evacuation of most of the population of present-day Hong Kong and lasted eight years in Yuen Long. In 1669, during the reign of the Kangxi Emperor in the Qing dynasty, that eight-year ban was lifted. The same year, the Market was moved north to the area now known as Yuen Long Kau Hui. This was done for political reasons. The Market was set up by Tang Man-wai, a 23rd-generation member of the Tang Clan of Kam Tin. He was a district magistrate of Longyou County in Zhejiang Province. While it is far from the coast today, it was beside the seashore when the Market was first built.
Sha Tin, also known as Shatin, is located in the eastern New Territories of Hong Kong. It is administratively part of the Sha Tin District. Sha Tin is one neighborhood of the Sha Tin New Town project.
Under the New Towns Development Programme (Hong Kong government), the new town was established in 1973. The city’s current name was inspired by Sha Tin Wai, a nearby village. It is called “Sand Fields”.
Sha Tin, also called Shatin, is a neighborhood that runs along the Shing Mun River in the eastern New Territories. It is Hong Kong’s easternmost suburb. It is an administrative part of Sha Tin District. Sha Tin is part of the Sha Tin New Town project.
The New Towns Development Programme, Hong Kong’s 1973 program to create new towns, led to the creation of this unique city. It was named after Sha Tin Wai, the nearby village. Its literal English translation is “Sand Fields”.
