Toronto is the capital of Ontario province. It is home to more than 2.7 million people, making it the fourth most populous North American city. The city is the heart of the Golden Horseshoe, an urban agglomeration of 9.2 million people surrounding the western end of Lake Ontario. At the same time, Greater Toronto had a population of 6.4 million in 2016.

Quebec City is the capital of Canada’s province of Quebec. The city’s population was 531,902, and the metropolitan area was 800,296 as of July 2016. It is Canada’s eleventh-largest and seventh-largest metropolitan region. It is also the second largest city in the Quebec province, right after Montreal. It enjoys a continental climate, with warm summers and long, cold, snowy winters.

Vancouver, British Columbia’s lower mainland region, is a major Canadian city. The city is the largest inhabitant of the province. In 2016 – 631,486 people were recorded in the town. This was an increase from 603,502 in 2011. Greater Vancouver had 2,463,431 residents in 2016, making it Canada’s third-largest metropolitan area.

Vancouver is home to Canada’s most significant population density, with more than 5,400 residents per square kilometer. Vancouver is one of the most diverse and ethnically enriched cities in Canada. 52% of its residents don’t speak English fluently, 48.9% aren’t native speakers of either French or English, and more than half of its residents belong to visible minorities.

Calgary is located in Alberta, a western Canadian province. Calgary, Alberta’s most populous municipality, is home to 1,239,220 people. It is also Canada’s third largest city after Toronto and Montreal. After Greater Vancouver, Calgary Metropolitan Region is second in Western Canada’s population.

Canada’s capital is Ottawa. It is situated in the eastern part of southern Ontario on the Ottawa River’s south bank. Ottawa borders Gatineau in Quebec and is the heart of the Ottawa-Gatineau Census Metropolitan Area (CMA). The city of Ottawa, with a population of 934,243 in 2016, was the fourth largest and had a metropolitan population (CMA) of 1,476,008 and the fifth largest CMA in Canada. The City of Ottawa had an estimated population of 1 million in June 2019.
