Kathmandu, officially known as Kathmandu Metropolitan City in Nepal, is the capital and most populous of all cities. It was home to 975.453 inhabitants in 2011. It is located in Kathmandu Valley. This large valley is on the high plateaus of central Nepal. It is located at Kathmandu Valley, a large valley on the high tables of central Nepal at an elevation of 1,400m (4.600 feet).

Pokhara is a metropolitan city in Nepal that serves as Gandaki Province’s capital. It is the country’s largest metropolitan city in terms of area and second-largest in terms of population. The city also serves as the headquarters of the Kaski District. Pokhara is located 200 kilometers (120 miles) west of Kathmandu’s capital.

The city is on the shore of Phewa Lake and sits at an elevation of approximately 822m. The Annapurna Range, with three out of the ten highest peaks in the world, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, and Manaslu, is within 15 to 35 mi (24–56 km) of the valley.

The third-largest city in Nepal is Lalitpur Metropolitan City, after Kathmandu or Pokhara. It is situated in the southern part of Kathmandu Valley. This new metropolis of Nepal is also located there. Manigal is another name for Lalitpur. It is most well-known for its rich cultural heritage, especially its arts and crafts tradition.

It is known for its festival and feast, fine ancient art, and the creation of metal- and stone-carved statues. It had a population in 2011 of 226,728 people living in 54,748 households. On 25 April 2015, the earthquake that devastated the city caused extensive damage.
