Minsk, Belarus’s capital and largest city, is located on the Svislach River and the subterranean Niamiha Rivers. Its population, not including its suburbs, was 2,009,786 as of January 2021. Minsk is the 11th most populous European city. Grodno can be described as a city in western Belarus. It is situated at the Neman river, 300km (186 mi) from Minsk. The border with Poland is 15km (9 mi), and the city is 30 km (19 mi) away from Lithuania. The city was home to 373,547 people in 2019. Grodno is the capital of both the Grodno region and the Grodno District.

Gomel is located in the southeastern part of Belarus. The 18th-19th century Gomel Palace, situated on the Sozh River, is now a museum that displays paintings, decorative arts, and weaponry. Park Ensemble is home to the palace and the cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul in a classical style. The Gomel Regional Museum of Military Glory is north and displays vintage aircraft, weapons, and uniforms.

Brest is a city in Belarus, opposite Terespol (Polish city) at the border with Poland. It lies where the Bug-Mukhavets rivers intersect, making it a Border Town. It is the capital of the Brest Region.

Mogilev, a city located in eastern Belarus on the Dnieper River, is approximately 76 km (47 miles) from the Russian border with the Smolensk Oblast and 105km (65 miles) away from the border with the Bryansk Oblast. It is the administrative center of the Mogilev Region and the third-largest city in Belarus. Its population in 2011 was 359,918, an increase of 106,000 from 1956.
